JOB OVERVIEW

Software Engineer position is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills to empower Big Data project delivery and to build in-depth knowledge within our business. You will support delivery of Big Data project and solutions to support the global business needs and objectives, by providing high quality and timely input to projects. Your responsibilities will include business requirement analysis, application design, software development, also responsible for end-to-end deliverables and testing.

The Software Engineer is a core member of the local APAC spoke team, supporting the delivery of Big Data Technologies and other project to support global BU Solutions business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Member of the agile project team, ensuring efficient and effective end to end project delivery to meet Big Data strategy and client expectations
• Business requirement analysis, talk with local BU regarding business requirement analysis and help to shape the data offer in some degree.
• Application design, software development, most of time involve in hands-on activity for development and troubleshooting/performance tuning etc.
• Supports Offerings development team to build out new capabilities leveraging BDF component/technologies to address business objectives based on country data asset

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant discipline;
• Good oral and written English skills;
• Hands-on experience with Java/Python/Scala/Hadoop/Hive/Spark/SQL development with real project experiences.
  • Hadoop development and implementation.
  • Loading from disparate data sets.
  • Pre-processing using Hive and Spark.
• Designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Hadoop.
• Practical real project experiences on Scala/Java/JDK/Web Development
• Expertise on Data Warehouse methodology
• Machine Learning will be an added advantage
• Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle including continue integration with tools like Jenkins/JIRA and Agile methodology.
• Capable of taking charge of emergent tasks and delivering without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary, Patient, organized, detail-oriented
