JOB DESCRIPTION
The IQVIA Financial Institutions Consulting group (FIC) focuses on partnering with Global Financial Investors (e.g., Private Equity, Venture Capital, Hedge Funds) and corporate clients (e.g., Biopharma companies) on M&A, investment, and strategic engagements. IQVIA FIC supports investment decisions across the healthcare/life sciences sector and offers value-creation partnerships that maximize ROI and generate significant business pull-through for IQVIA. As such, the IQVIA FIC team engages with healthcare/life sciences investors globally to provide expertise and support on strategy, commercial due diligence, company/target screening, carve-outs, divestments, portfolio company value creation, and other business development engagements.
YOUR CHALLENGE
As a Principal within the IQVIA FIC team, you will take on a significant role that focuses primarily on client/project leadership, business development, and firm/operational leadership. This includes delivering outstanding client service, while building trusted relationships with new and existing clients that enhance the IQVIA FIC brand. This role requires sales and delivery experience. Success will be measured by the ability take on delivery of larger and more complex projects, while selling new business and creating long-term, strategic partnerships for the firm through flawless delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and deliver insightful, value-added strategies that address complex client issues.
Create and elevate new business opportunities and identify new revenue opportunities with existing and new client organizations by cultivating a significant network within the PE, VC Hedge Fund, Emerging Biopharma (EBP) communities.
Actively participate in proposal development and ongoing pre-sales meetings with potential new client organizations.
Function as principal owner of client engagements; ultimate responsibility for client satisfaction and deliver high levels of quality/added value.
Provide follow-up with clients after project deliverables have been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
Allocate direction, advice, and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams.
Provide high level input and ensure development of client reports and presentations.
Ability to deliver all or significant portions of insights / findings to clients.
Remain current on industry / competitive trends and competitors in order to anticipate and identify new business challenges and issues with assigned clients.
Contribute to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA FIC Thought Leadership and services offerings in the marketplace through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications, etc.
Attend key investor conferences to follow-up with current and cultivate new clients
Serve as Designated Lead (DL) for junior team members for mentoring & performance reviews
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE will have:
Experience as the owner of extraordinary client relationship management and delivery with financial investors in healthcare/life sciences (Private Equity / Venture Capital / Hedge Fund) and Biopharma.
Proven capability to identify new revenue opportunities with existing clients.
Solid team player with identified people development skills and management experience.
Proven success in business development, selling complex strategy and operations engagements.
Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences strategy experience, selling due diligence, valuation, and strategy work.
Senior level solution selling - Proven ability to build relationships, identify client pain points, and develop custom solutions at the CEO/COO/CFO level (ideally providing comprehensive and authoritative knowledge in strategy, due diligence and transaction advisory solutions demonstrated through speaking, writing, and general eminence).
Global and US Private Equity/VC network knowledge - Has the experience to craft client strategies that are specific to international geography.
Good understanding of financial statements & corporate finance including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow management.
Development of internal & external key Thought Leadership initiatives
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree highly preferred.
11+ years’ experience in strategy consulting, Life Sciences corporate development, or within a financial institution (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Hedge Fund) with a focus on M&A / commercial due diligence / landscape PoVs / deal advisory and integration strategy within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare sector.
Evidence of career progression in consulting and/or transaction advisory roles.
Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Located near and work in either NYC, Boston, or San Francisco to provide office leadership

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $143,800.00 - $400,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
