We are seeking candidates who can be based in Abu Dhabi and are available to work onsite full-time.
Role Purpose:
To lead site-level clinical trial planning, delivery and oversight, ensuring safe, timely and compliant conduct in accordance with approved protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable UAE requirements and organisational policy.
The role is the principal operational link between Principal Investigators, the Corporate Research Office, sponsors/CROs, clinical departments and facility leadership. It manages Clinical Trials Research Assistants, oversees quality, risk and study performance, and escalates material issues.
Responsibilities
Study Planning, Feasibility and Start-Up: Lead site feasibility, start-up and activation with the Principal Investigator and corporate research office. Convert protocol requirements into a delivery plan; confirm approvals, delegation, training and department readiness; and assign start-up work.
Study Delivery and Participant Pathway Oversight: Direct site delivery across recruitment, screening, consent, visits and follow-up. Monitor enrolment, milestones and participant safety, remove barriers and ensure work remains within the approved protocol and delegation log.
Team Leadership and Work Allocation: Manage Clinical Trials Research Assistants day to day. Set priorities, allocate and review work, coach staff, balance workloads and address or escalate performance, capacity and quality issues.
Governance, Quality and Risk Management: Oversee essential documents, source records, CRFs/eCRFs, deviations, safety reporting and data queries. Lead monitoring, audit and inspection readiness; coordinate Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) and escalate risk to the Principal Investigator and corporate research office.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Serve as the primary operational contact for investigators, the corporate research office, sponsors/CROs, clinical departments and facility leadership. Lead study meetings, issue concise status reports, confirm decisions and dependencies, and escalate material issues.
Trial Operations and Resource Control: Oversee sample, investigational product and procedure logistics with pharmacy, laboratory and other departments. Control inventory, equipment, secure storage and archiving, and coordinate resources for safe, timely study delivery.
Capability, Compliance and Improvement: Maintain current knowledge of GCP, applicable UAE requirements, organisational policies and study procedures. Keep team training records current, coach staff, share learning and improve site research processes.
Required background and experience:
Minimum three years’ experience coordinating clinical trials in a healthcare or academic setting, including site start-up, study delivery and monitoring or audit preparation.
Experience supervising staff or workloads across multiple studies and liaising with sponsors, CROs and senior stakeholders; experience within the UAE is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical sciences
