Systems Support Developer

We are seeking a Systems Support Developer to join a team responsible for supporting and enhancing production applications and data solutions following their transition from development into operational support.
This role is ideal for an early-career technology professional who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with production support teams to maintain existing solutions, investigate issues, automate manual processes, and contribute to ongoing enhancements. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in large-scale data environments, scripting, database technologies, and production support operations.
Essential Functions
- Support and maintain production applications, data processes, and operational workflows.
- Analyze existing code, scripts, and data processes to diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Develop and implement fixes, enhancements, and automation solutions to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor production processes and ensure business-critical applications continue to operate effectively.
- Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to transition new solutions into production support.
- Participate in root cause analysis and recommend long-term improvements to reduce recurring issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.
- Leverage scripting and automation to streamline operational support activities.
- Continuously learn and expand technical expertise in large-scale data platforms and modern development technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in software development, application support, systems support, or a related technical role.
- Experience with Shell Scripting in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and support existing code and scripts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Hadoop or other large-scale data platforms.
- Exposure to Python scripting and automation.
- Experience with Oracle databases.
- Experience supporting production applications and operational systems.
- Knowledge of application monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management processes.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $55,400.00 - $138,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
