In this role, you’ll work closely with one sponsor, gaining deep knowledge of their therapies while leveraging IQVIA’s global expertise.
Overview
This role supports the design, execution, and delivery of RWE/Epidemiology studies, contributing scientific and methodological expertise across assigned studies and workstreams. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Epidemiologist helps ensure studies are scientifically sound, operationally feasible, and aligned with Medical Evidence Generation priorities.
The Epidemiologist contributes to a range of scientific deliverables, including protocols, analyses, reports, and publications, while maintaining quality standards and supporting evidence generation activities.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to the sponsor's RWE/Epidemiology Lead within their Integrated Evidence Generation (IEG) organization.
Collaborates with Medical Evidence Development (MED) colleagues, CMO colleagues (e.g., DS&A, Regulatory, Safety), clinicians, HV&E/GAV, and other cross-functional partners to support study design and execution.
Works with external vendors supporting study activities and deliverables.
Responsibilities
Scientific Expertise
Applies epidemiologic methods and scientific principles to support RWE/Epidemiology studies.
Contributes to the development of scientific deliverables, including study concepts, protocols, analysis plans, reports, and publications.
Conducts literature reviews and evidence assessments to support study design and interpretation.
Supports real-world data assessments and landscape evaluations, including evaluation of new datasets and networks in Europe.
Assists with responding to epidemiologic information requests, including safety-related and ad hoc analyses.
Ensures accuracy, quality, and scientific integrity of assigned work.
Study Execution
Supports study feasibility assessments and operational planning activities.
Collaborates with MED Evidence Generation Operations teams and external vendors to support study execution.
Contributes to inspection and audit readiness activities for RWE/Epidemiology studies.
Performs code list review, data quality control, and validation activities.
Supports study management activities and other tasks as needed to facilitate successful study delivery.
Requirements
Education
PhD in Epidemiology
Experience
2 or more years of full time, professional experience within a pharma company or pharma consulting organization (not including postdoctoral fellowship)
Experience supporting RWE/Epidemiology studies in academia, industry, or a contract research organization.
Knowledge of one or more therapeutic areas, including migraine, obesity, anti-infectives, inflammation, immunology, rare disease, or CV/metabolic disease.
Experience contributing to study protocols, research reports, analyses, and/or publications.
Experience working within cross-functional or matrixed teams.
Skills
Strong understanding of epidemiologic methods and observational research.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective organizational and project management skills.
Ability to collaborate successfully within cross-functional teams.
Ability to work with analysts and programmers to support execution of analysis plans.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality scientific work.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $109,200.00 - $273,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
