Director, APAC Corporate Strategy

JOB OVERVIEW

Tracks, analyzes and presents information and trends affecting the APAC and global pharmaceutical industry for use in executive presentations, strategic planning, industry conferences, and decision-making. Includes presentation of materials and management of team of analytical and graphical resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, tracks, and creates points of view on trends affecting our pharmaceutical clients and healthcare in general.
  • Communicates this knowledge internally through NewsScripts articles, brown-bag lunches, departmental presentations and town meetings, by serving as an internal consultant, and via the strategic planning process and its outputs.
  • Prepares, maintains and delivers complex, content-rich presentations on APAC environmental trends and industry performance externally and to key clients.
  • Includes specific client-specific tailoring to support key business thrusts.
  • Analyzes the structure, strategies, and economics of the overall Pharma industry and key clients and how they are expected to change business implications for IQVIA.
  • Provides process management and support for strategic business planning and its linkages with Marketing, Consulting and Sales.
  • Consists of annual plan as well as special projects requiring information-gathering, creative analysis, and compelling communication.
  • Examples can include client win-backs, investor relations meetings, and IQVIA executive support.
  • Participates in business development activities, especially in areas not within IQVIA' core business.
  • Examples include e-prescribing, patient panels, genomics, etc.
  • Manages the creation, maintenance, training and presentation of our premier global industry repository (SMR).
  • Provides comprehensive and immediate speaker support and responses to IQVIA and client executives worldwide.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Typically 7–10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, consulting, finance, or operations-related environments is strongly preferred; life sciences experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Industry & Business Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, with broader healthcare industry exposure highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze industry structures, business models, strategies, and economics, and translate insights into commercial and strategic implications.
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to make decisions that protect and advance IQVIA’s interests.

Leadership & Influence

  • Broad management knowledge with the capability to lead teams and influence stakeholders outside of direct reporting lines.
  • Proven “horizontal and upward” leadership skills, including the ability to engage, challenge, and influence senior executives.
  • Possesses sufficient professional gravitas and credibility to serve as an external thought leader and internal authority on industry topics.

Analytical & Strategic Skills

  • Superior analytical capabilities, with a track record of converting complex information into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, managing multiple shifting priorities while maintaining output quality.
  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently drive initiatives from concept to execution.

Communication & Presentation

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex ideas to senior leadership and external audiences.
  • Outstanding presentation and executive storytelling skills, including strong slide drafting, message structuring, and delivery for leadership-level forums.
  • Able to deliver concise, impactful narratives that support executive decision-making, client engagement, and industry positioning.

Language Requirements

  • Native or near-native English proficiency; English must be the primary working language.
  • Chinese language capability is a strong plus.
