Job Overview

The Associate Proposal Developer supports the development, coordination, and submission of proposals in response to customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs). Working under direct supervision, this role collaborates with proposal development teams and internal stakeholders to assist in preparing proposal content, budgets, and supporting documentation that align with customer requirements and organizational standards.

This position is ideal for candidates who possess strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and who are interested in developing a career in proposal development, business operations, or the clinical research industry.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development Support

  • Assist in the review and analysis of customer Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Identify relevant information required for proposal text, pricing, and budget development.
  • Collaborate with proposal development teams to prepare, review, and finalize proposal submissions.
  • Support the preparation of proposal documents, rebids, and related customer-facing materials.

Document Quality and Compliance

  • Perform quality control reviews and edits on proposal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Participate in the finalization, assembly, and distribution of proposal packages to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all proposal documentation meets established quality standards and submission timelines.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Update and maintain proposal-related databases and tracking systems.
  • Ensure proposal information is accurately documented and reflected in internal reporting tools.
  • Support proposal metrics tracking and reporting activities as required.

Customer and Team Collaboration

  • Provide support on smaller proposal opportunities from initiation through submission.
  • Participate in customer meetings when appropriate to support proposal activities.
  • Develop effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the Clinical Research Organization (CRO) industry or healthcare services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of budgeting concepts and costing models.
  • Ability to review and interpret Requests for Proposal (RFPs), protocols, and customer requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and customers.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Preferred

  • Internship, academic project experience, or exposure to proposal development, business operations, clinical research, healthcare, or customer support environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Extensive use of telephone and virtual communication requiring accurate perception and interpretation of speech.
  • Frequent use of computers and keyboards requiring repetitive hand and finger movements.
  • Ability to work for extended periods in a desk-based environment.
